Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father was an elementary school teacher, and her mother as mother at home. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her brothers older than her. McCormick was a gifted artist and singer from a young age. She show puppet shows for the neighbors. When McCormick was six years old, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency approached her and asked her whether she'd like to go into the show business. McCormick found her first role as an actress major in 1964. She was featured in an ad campaign for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play Wind It Up And It Breaks in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the youngest daughter of the trio of towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a brand new family. The show lasted for five seasons. In her autobiography Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the shows fifth season she was close to losing her virginity to her onscreen brother and co-star Barry Williams. She was just 16 when the incident occurred and he was just 19. We would've had a couple, she added. The timing, however, wasn't right.
